I'm sure it's Tower Hill E/B - the way the tiles overlap the station frieze is a giveaway.

Yeah, its a pity that. Will they be sorting that out anytime soon? Seems to detract from the character.

Where Metromess were involved in station refurbs, work has pretty much come to a standstill whilst the mess is sorted. Aldgate East is another classic.....
Anyway, yes - Tower Hill is my choice too.

Sorry to go off topic, but what was Tower Hill's original tiling? Was it cream like at Aldgate East?

No, it's always been plain white - the previous tiles were rather worn out though.

Actually Tower Hill had 'Victoria Line' style light blue tiles from new (1967).
Above the new white tiles in the picture you can see the remnants of the paper frieze names that were applied when the station opened, before the enameled ones were ready and simply bolted over the top.

Tower Hill is a relatively new station. Mark Lane was closed in 1967 (as said) and replaced by Tower Hill. Aldgate East was rebuilt just before WW2 if I remember correctly!

Thank you.
In this case I think that the station would benefit from something like this, as I'm not a fan of an endless sea of white tiles.
