It is Highgate tunnel, left-hand bore I think. Wasn't this the site of NH1/RNH2 signal?

The tunnel mouth rebuilt with the round shape was at Park Junction, where Highgate Wood Sidings were established later: www.ltmcollection.org/images/webmax/24/i0000824.jpgwww.ltmcollection.org/images/webmax/25/i0000825.jpgHaving the benefit of ahem! publishing several photos in UndergrounD # 9 I quickly checked them and it is apparent that the brickwork from the rebuilding spread over to nearly above the elliptical Up/SB Park Junction tunnel mouth. I think it's the Down/NB Highgate South Tunnel looking north. The Up/SB South tunnel would be to the right. As against either of the tunnels viewed from the High Level cutting as the platforms ran to virtually the tunnel mouths. |
