I took a chance with a bet against Colin and came off second best - as a gentlemen's agreement it was only right that I honoured it It will be changed for the new year don't you worry

Far be it from me to comment about football teams in East London..... However West Ham aren't top on my Christmas Card list Anyway, to the quiz. Several correct on PM, those above getting at least one out of three. Between everyone the answers have been correctly guessed, with the exception of the person on the platform. New Cross Gate. As The ELL closes, I have a question of my own. What happens to the stock? Will it be handed to the new keepers of the line, or will it be sent to other areas of The Underground network? I presume it's C or D stock (not good with those big trains!) meaning several lines could make use of the extra stock...?

It's A stock and it's all getting sent back to Neasden tonight I believe.

What happens to the stock? Look at the sticker on the M door window . It is an A stock.

All 6-7 trains needed to run the ELL will be going home! These will be added to the day to day running of the Metropolitan Line to increase reliability on this service. I expect you will see more double enders coupled to each other on the Met now!

I really must do some homework! I just can't tell the difference between the A, C and D Stock, they all look the same to me. Give me some good 73's or 38's etc, and it's obvious! As a footnote, although I'm Lewisham born and bred, I think I only ever used The ELL once, and that was to visit my Gran in New Cross Hospital! Farewell ELL. Edited before anyone spots the faux pas!! The number 6 is just above the number 3 on my keyboard

Apparently, they'll go to Neasden. Quite what will happen with them once they get there, I do not know. I suppose there is nowt stopping them from being joined up into 8 car trains, and used normally.
According to the SS at the Whitechapel, they were to be transferred during Sunday Morning. [23/12]

I just can't tell the difference between the A, C and D Stock, they all look the same to me. The A stock has headlights only on one side of the train - a distinct feature of the old rolling stock. If still unsure, consult with the Tubeprune's Rolling Stock Summary .

I expect the trains will be part of the everyday mainline fleet. It must be remembered that the A stock on the East London Line was not confined to those services unlike the 4 car F stock were from 1952-63. I expect you will see a lot more spare A stock sitting round Neasden now! It also means there is more choice of which sets are avalable for the Chesham service (choice of all 24 now!).

[23/12] Well, the booked transfer path at 1913 last night wasn't used and there are four paths each today and tomorrow for use as required. I do intend to try and photograph an A stock at Aldgate East tomorrow morning sometime, unfortunately I was too late in getting up this morning to try today.
