Bakerloo Line services from Elephant and Castle - Lambeth North have been suspended due to a fire. Apparently damage to signalling equipment.
Update: Apparently an overheated insulator pot.

Apparently damage to signalling equipment. What's going on here then. Easy to find out on the TfL website. Bakerloo Line: No service between Elephant and Castle and Lambeth North due to emergency engineering work to fix damaged signalling equipment at Elephant and Castle. MINOR DELAYS on the rest of the line. Valid tickets are being accepted on London buses.

Chris, That is what the OP put damaged signalling equipment as the service has been suspended since the start of the day it must have been done in what they call engineering hours but going by how long it's taking must be either significant or a part they don't have a lot of spares. I'm sure one of our LU members will come along when they can.

First signs of problems at 20.56 yesterday when track circuits started failing and then traction current tripped out at 22.10. Services suspended. Fire brigade called and dispatched. Damage to section switches which contain asbestos elements. Flooding in sidings area from external leak. (not clear which came first, leak causing shorting, or lack of power)
Services still suspended Tue 14 June AM.

Chris, All you did was put Emergency engineering work I don't call that amplified, now if you had given some reasons or even put the reason if you knew what it was to have the service suspended for so long then I could agree but you brought nothing to the table so to speak. Anyway have a good one

If trains are suspended because of a fire, after an hour or so it's obvious that there are emergency engineering works.
I expect that when the fire started, some trains were held at red signals, with automated messages telling passengers that they should be moving shortly.

On the Bakerloo 72TS trains' present very limited CIS I don't think that particular message is available, perhaps fortunately...
