I noticed from TfL's socials that IKEA appear to have struck a deal whereby stations nearby their stores have IKEA logos next to them, because the map isn't crowded enough.

Far too cluttered now, time to start removing everything unnecessary, or making unnecessary stuff much smaller, so the Thames, Thameslink and Emirates Airline

At some point overnight, the PDF version of the new map went live of TfL's website. Here is my list of every change I've spotted - there are a lot of them this time so I may have missed something: Major changes:- Elizabeth line core added, TfL Rail becomes Elizabeth line and changes from blue to purple
- Northern line Bank branch reopened
- Barking Riverside added as opening soon, in consequence the river now turns North after Beckton and then right again at Barking Riverside, necessitating a redesign of the royal docks area (see below).
Other changes:- The label for Paddington moves from above the Bakerloo line to below the Elizabeth line core roundel. It's now not east to tell what station is between Warwick Avenue and Edgware Road on the Bakerloo.
- South Kensington, Barons Court and Turnham Green gain interchange circles
- Heathrow Terminal 4 reopens with a dagger and Terminals 2 & 3 looses it's dagger.
- Putney Bridge gains an interchange circle (maybe for River services? it's the only station with river services that isn't already an interchange and/or some variety of strep free so this is just a guess)
- Kennington is redesigned. The Northern line now has an even split north of Oval, moving Kennington south and slightly east and the interchange there much shorter. There is a new S-bend in the northern line north of Elephant and Castle in consequence.
- Elephant and Castle Thameslink is now correctly a separate station to Elephant and Castle Underground with walking interchange between them.
- Neasden, Ampere Way, North Greenwich, Hammersmith and Tottenham Hale gain IKEA badges.
- Farringdon Thameslink is now south west rather than west of Farringdon LU to accommodate the Elizabeth line. It also gains an NR symbol (which it should have for Thameslink, not the Elizabeth line).
- To accommodate the Elizabeth line, the Piccadilly line runs further east between King's Cross and Holborn than it did with Russell Square moving north slightly too.
- Kentish Town gains an NR symbol, in consequence Tufnell Park's label changes from two to one line. This is all very cramped with Thameslink here (but there is space to move the New Southgate branch south east without impacting the Piccadilly line so I'm not sure why they haven't)
- Aldgate East changes from an interchange circle to a tick for no obvious reason.
- Around Stratford, the Central line and Elizabeth line (nee TfL Rail) used to run directly adjacent but are now separated (the Central line doing the moving). Instead of running south of Mile End as it did when it was TfL Rail, the Elizabeth line now runs north, running directly adjacent to London Overground from just west of Bethnal Green Overground all the way into Liverpool Street - this approximates reality, but the East London Line crossing over the Lee Valley routes but under the Elizabeth line does not (it crosses above both).
- Deptford moves from south west of Surrey Quays to west of Greenwich in a move that (unusually for this map) reflects geography better.
- The dangleway is no longer sponsored, so Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Docks loose their Emirates. The cable car symbol changes from blue to half red half brown.
- West India Quay gains a walk line to Canary Wharf Elizabeth line, making unclear whether the new station is called Canary Wharf or West India Quay. Putting the Elizabeth line station west of the DLR (in reality it's east of the DLR and north of the Jubilee stations) and moving the WIQ label east would probably have been clearer.
- In a significant change to accommodate the Thames getting close to Barking Riverside, the Beckton branch changes from running south east from Custom House to running south. This means that Cyprus station, which in reality is due south of Beckton, is now shown due north of it. Unfortunately this requires the DLR-Elizabeth line at Custom House to be shown as a very long line, despite the platforms being directly adjacent.
Minor changes: - The font used is slightly less condensed, meaning every word takes up more horizontal space. None of the zone lines have been changed to accommodate this, so Hayes & Harlington, Kingsbury, Burnt Oak, Goodmayes, and Gunnersbury now bump up to the boundary and possibly very slightly cross it. Bethnal Green LU, Merton Park, Imperial Wharf and Southall very nearly do. The exception to this is Northfields which moves from south east to northwest of its tick (to move out the way of Chiswick Park), the Z3 boundary has been adjusted around this, but quite ham-fistedly imo.
- The font used for the zone numbers was previously bold but now isn't
- The Transport for London January/May 2022 on the left of the map and the zone 3 label now ends further towards the bottom right. The Zone 3 label also moves right (from below Hanger Lane to above the Ealing of North Ealing). One will be in consequence of the other but I don't know which way round. The District line moves further away from the Piccadilly line around Ealing Common. In consequence Acton Town and Ealing Common go from one blob to two. Ealing Broadway's label moves from centre aligned with the NR symbol on the third line to right aligned with the NR symbol at the start of the first of two lines.
- The Elizabeth line moves further away from the Piccadilly line on the Heathrow T5 branch and the airport symbol moves from the centre of the T4 loop to west of the T5 branch.
- Possibly in consequence of Turnham Green's larger symbol, the Overground moves further away from the District line on the Richmond branch.
- Putney Bridge, Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway all move north slightly
- The Key to symbols gets one line longer due to the addition of the key for IKEA badges. In a clear mistake, the "F" grid identifier also moves up one line to stay level with the NR interchange in the key, meaning it's no longer in the space left in the grid line for it.
- To accommodate Neasden's IKEA badge, Cricklewood moves north east.
- Watford High Street's label starts further right, so as to align with the start of Carpenders Park, Bushey and Watford Junction's labels (they all have circles rather than a tick). Hatch End and Headstone Lane, previously aligned between the two, don't change.
- In another consequence of adding the Elizabeth line, Bond Street Jubilee moves from north to south of the Central line, taking the label with it. It gains a dagger.
- Seven Sister's NR symbol moves from left of "Seven" to above it, maybe in consequence of the less condensed font?
- Oxford Circus' label moves from north west to south east of the blob. In consequence TCR's label has to move from south west to north east of it's blob making it adjacent to Goodge Street (which has moved from east to west of the line). The only way to solve this would be to move Goodge Street north. This would require Russell Square to move north, which would necessitate Warren Street's label moving to where Euston Square's is now, taking the place of Euston's. Moving that would require adding a kink so LO departed Euston west rather than north west.
- Old Street, Hoxton and Haggerston all move north and Bethnal Green LO moves north east to accommodate the Elizabeth line. The former's label changes from one to three lines. For the same reason the River Thames, North Greenwich and Greenwich Peninsula moves slightly south around the top of the Greenwich peninsula. Presumably to keep the dangleway the same shape, Royal Docks has moved a similar distance south and is now further away from Royal Victoria. Similarly Limehouse and Westferry move west, West India Quay and Canary Wharf DLR move north, Canary Wharf JLE moves west to keep the walk line to the DLR straight. West India Quay and Limehouse labels both add a line as they are now more cramped.
- Stratford changes from two to three blobs due to the Central line getting divorced from the Elizabeth line after its name change.
- In consequence of the Elizabeth line, Woolwich Arsenal's label moves from east to west of the station, meaning Charlton moves below the line to accommodate it. West Silvertown to King George V labels all move from east to west (southwest in West Silvertown's case) of the line and move from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 lines of text.
- Abbey Wood is now shown as south of Woolwich Elizabeth line and southeast of Woolwich Arsenal, in reality it and Plumstead (also now south east) are due east. Woolwich Arsenal's label moves from one line east of the DLR to two lines west. It also gains an NR symbol.
- To reflect LO becoming a through service at Barking, the LO blob there moves from north east to north of the LU blob and the line enters from the north west rather than north.
- Probably in consequence of the River Thames changing shape, the "Transport for London May 2022" text on the east of the map moves closer to the District line, this is possibly why Dagenham Heathway has moved north east slightly and it's label changed from one to two lines. The Zone 4 label in this area, previously east of the Z3 label is now north east of it (east of Plaistow rather than east of Canning Town/Star Lane).
