A new month!! Same rules though... However, there are a couple of days when things are slightly different. The members meet will be interactive, run by Chris from wherever he can get a signal, and Christmas itself has a different slant. Meanwhile, today is a two part question. Part one below, part two to follow for anyone struggling a bit later today: *Click for larger version*

Is this the temporary panelling at Earls Court?

earls court my second home So what's going on there these days? Having not seen the place for just over three years I wouldn't have a clue about anything temporary!

I will be boring and agree that it's Earls Court. The temporary panelling has been there sometime now, I can't wait for it to be removed.

The panelling is to cover scaffolding - which in turn is presumably something to do with roof repairs. One interesting feature is that they've had to make up several "repeater" boards for the famous destination boards, as visibility along the platforms is severely restricted.

They have built a platform under the canopy, the full length of the station to do the works 24/7.

They have built a platform under the canopy, the full length of the station to do the works 24/7. ISTR that the roof at Earl's Court is the only example of its kind left in the UK and possibly Europe too. Apparently it runs on track when it expands in the summer. I forget how much longer it gets.

I might be shewing an unhealthy level of knowledge here - but I think it was taken on platforms 3/4 looking west.
