So TfL is in funding discussions with the local boroughs of Southwark and Lewisham in hopes of continuing development of the scheme, although a start on construction will need Government funding which looks doubtful in the near term. Still it makes sense that the boroughs most likely to benefit from the extension may be willing to chuck money in to keep the thing on the boil. That will reduce the final funds to be found, reduce risks and make plans more secure.
