I'm sure this has already been raised several times before (and please do merge this with another thread), but there seems to be a bug on the TFL website when searching tube line timetables, where the website simply cannot process your station choices despite it being perfectly possible to travel between them with no changes. For example, I just tried to check the Piccadilly line timetable with Russell Square as my starting place and Alperton as my destination. A perfectly legitimate and possible journey in my eyes, from having a lovely hot breakfast sandwich from the cabman's shelter at Russell Square before going for a long ride to say goodbye to Alperton bus garage before it's razed to the ground and turned into flats. However, when I searched on the website for times, knowing that the Rayners Lane/Uxbridge service is less frequent than the Heathrow branch, I got the following screenshot, effectively telling me "computer says no". I mean, it's not like I've asked for a direct train between Ealing Common and Hatton Cross or something! I wonder if this is just an issue at my end, or if other users have experienced this. It seems to be a way to push people towards the Journey Planner.

I have done searches for the same journey on my smartphone browser using Chrome and seems ok, wonder what internet browser you are using maybe causing the error as internet explorer does now cause problems with the functionality of some websites, as it is no longer supported, maybe try using a different web browser chrome etc.

I've had this exact same problem myself on multiple occasions when using Chrome on my laptop. I think that the last time it happened, I switched over to MS Edge and was able to get it to work just fine.

I use Chrome on both my laptop and mobile, and the same issue persists. I might give Edge or Firefox a try.

It doesn't work properly on Opera, which uses the chrome engine.
Tfl really are a bunch of amateurs at times.

It doesn't work properly on Opera, which uses the chrome engine. Tfl really are a bunch of amateurs at times. From experience elsewhere, the fact that different browsers use the same engine isn’t always enough to ensure that they behave the same way. Similarly, I find my browser configuration sometimes interferes with websites (I suspect due to my use of Ghostery with Firefox), but that they work well with others. I therefore hesitate to criticise TfL for their website design without knowing more about both the browser used and how it’s configured.

To update what I said: "It takes a special sort of stupid to go live with a system that does not even work on a completely clean configuration of the most popular browser."

Hmm I just tried the website and immediately got results for the Journey from Russel Square to Alperton. All I can say is the website works fine from my location in the Alps and I rather doubt the website is intentionally designed to give overseas visitors a better service than people in the UK. I tried the search using Firefox, Explorer, and Edge and all 3 worked. Strange...

I note that on the original screenshot it says the Piccadilly line is part closed? Could that be the reason why it was not giving any times?

When I did my checking in response to the OP, and when I have tried in the past, it says: "Good Service" in place of "Part Closed". Seems to be working at the moment.
