CENTRAL LINE: From watching some videos - I can see that there is a very small section of tunnel leading to the depot. I understand the depot was demolished for the construction of Westfield? What happened to the tunnel? Where does the track lead to now? What happened?

The original route into the depot which is to left of the eastbound main, has been decommissioned. The track is still there but has been severed so it doesn't lead anywhere. The new route is now on top of the disused Wood lane station platform. Eagle eyed passengers may catch a quick glimpse of the old green tiling.

The underground sidings that replaced the surface While City Depot when the Westfield Shopping Centre was built are only a place to stable trains and it is no longer a Depot were trains are maintained. The nearest depot to White City at the western end of the Central Line is Ruislip. All the eastern end the only Depot is Hainault, all other places at the eastern end are just stabling sidings.

OK but the sidings are not the usual kind. There are elevated walkways for cleaners to work in the trains without track training.

Yes modern Health and Safety legislation has made this a must for new sidings and inside upgraded Depots on LondonUnderground.
