Don’t think it’s been mentioned elsewhere but the line Baker Street signals control system was finally migrated last week (over Tu\We night I think it was) from the archaic computers to a pc solution. This is only the control system control room not the signals kit i.e. not the interlockings etc. AIUI some of the old kit may be destined for Bletchley computer museum once it is no longer needed short term as fall back contingency.

Isn't that place due to close within the year with Hammersmith taking over the new signalling? Why change now?

Some years ago I was shown the vintage computer that controlled the Bakerloo line platform train describers. It was amazing that it worked.

Some years ago I was shown the vintage computer that controlled the Bakerloo line platform train describers. It was amazing that it worked. Ironically, they've had a shorter life than their Metropolitan line counterparts, which will probably be 37 by the time they're decommissioned. Not bad for a system with a design life of 20 years! They will be, without a doubt, the last GPT system still running. As for the Bakerloo; RIP 1134 and 1135. 1991-2021.

Sorry, but I picked this up through "recent threads" feed, which doesn't show which board it is posted under. Would help if thread showed a (B) for that reason.

I've never noticed that before, in small type line, up above the advert. Many thanks!
