Apols if the answer is on this board but I can't seem to find it. I know Met services to Aylesbury ended in 1961 but can't pin down the exact date of final service. Can anyone help pls?

It was the close of traffic on Saturday 9 Septeber 1961 - which may have gone into the very early hours of the Sunday but in Saturday's traffic day.

Any minute now you'll get someone telling you the train time and how late it was running. You did say exactly, after all!

Presumably special arrangements would have to have been made for the coaching stock that normally stabled at Aylesbury to be worked back to Neasden.

Pleased to say the restoration of BEA coach MLL738 is as complete as it can be, now restoring MLL721

No doubt someone will have the amended working timetable for the day as well.

No doubt someone will have the amended working timetable for the day as well. I'm on the case but it will have to be after the LTM at Acton reopens.

On a normal Saturday three coaching sets would be stabled at Aylesbury. In addition one set would have been stabled at Wendover on the Friday evening for use on the following Monday.
