Given that Overground services are operating but not stopping I assume the platforms are full of engineering stuffs.

Either that or it is not reasonably practical to keep the general public a safe distance from the engineering work (or a combination of both, obviously)

Part of total track replacement at Queen's Park, including North Shed. What you haven't seen, but has been happening is the 3 weeks or so of prep work done for this every night, which has caused 1 of the Queen's Park stablers to be at Stonebridge Park, and the rest of Queen's Park stabling to be reshuffled to keep North Shed empty.

Are they relaying the track in the south shed as well as the crossovers? Or just the platforms and north shed? Thanks

Most of the North Shed has been done - the only parts which haven't are over the crossover (and that would probably need a blockade rather than just a weekend).
The South shed isn't due to be relaid as far as I know; the rails there are set into the floor (the shed has pits) whereas the North shed is ballasted.

I assume that if it wasn’t for Covid, they’d run a service from Elephant and Castle to Paddington.

I was wondering that. I wonder what sort of frequency could be run? 6tph?

I was wondering that. I wonder what sort of frequency could be run? 6tph? I reckon they could do better than that with the number of trains stabled in London Road depot and at Elephant and Castle. If they double end the train at Paddington for the shunt move, I reckon 12 tph would be possible.

Does that mean having a driver waiting at the opposite end to the incoming one, so that the train can move a.s.a.p. ? ( And a platoon of Nora Battys with brooms to hustle the exiting passengers out as fast as possible. )
