And another: And yes it's a 6-ton Mechanical Horse owned by the GWR! On test I think with COMMERCIAL MOTOR. Note the tube train in the background. Perhaps after the fun this could be moved to "Historical", Messrs. Mods please?

Junction, surely? Fits with the LMS's "frequent trains to all parts"... Agreed on 1930s, the UndergrounD logo is post-LPTB so post-1933 I guess?

It's probably around 1936 I would say, and clearly Junction. It must be the west side entrance I would suggest.

The train looks like a Standard Stock control trailer. These worked the Bakerloo Watford service between 1931 and 1939.
The Scammell must be brand new - it looks as if it is carrying trade plates.

Interesting pictures, I havn't been outside Watford Junction since the Bakerloo ceased running there. It looks like the main forecourt, but the Bakerloo standard stock is on the left of the picture where if viewed from the front of the station it would be to the right.

The Scammell Mechanical Horse was introduced in 1934, so it's no earlier than that.

Yes, and there is a photo of LMS and SR Scammells in the (presumably) factory. No LNER surprisingly though I have one or two of them. The reason why it was near The Junction was because Scammell Lorries Limited had a factory in Watford.
