Does anyone know when the old announcements which used to announce the next station on the line were phased out and why this was? (they still do the train terminates at x announcements but not the next and current station ones).
What is the reason the newer voice does not announce the destination of the train? LU having retained the original voice which does not use the "This is a jubilee line train to stratford" sort of style?

Video 125 did their filming on the line in 2001 which still had the original announcements. The earliest footage I have seen with what we currently have dates from 2006 post-7th car addition which would make sense since there were major modifications to train systems undertaken for that.

I believe you are referring to Anita for the terminus and Celia for the rest of the announcements. That's a good question actually, but I'm not entirely sure.

I’m afraid to say that Celia will be replaced when the new announcements including Crossrail are to be recorded as she sadly passed away in January apparently

The "doors will open on the x hand side" announcements were introduced in June 2016, and it was announced that Crossrail would be called the Elizabeth line in February 2016. Hopefully she may have recorded announcements for the Elizabeth line at the same time.

I believe she is going to be replaced with Elinor Hamilton, similarly to how she has on the Northern line.

Will that include replacing Anita?

I believe she is going to be replaced with Elinor Hamilton, similarly to how she has on the Northern line. Celia has only been replaced on the Northern at Kennington and Bank, and I hope that they only change the announcements for Crossrail stations. That being said, for the period of the Bank branch closure, the announcement has gone back to the plain original Celia announcement at Kennington. Does anyone know when the old announcements which used to announce the next station on the line were phased out and why this was? ... LU having retained the original voice which does not use the "This is a jubilee line train to stratford" sort of style? Also a point for the ANITA announcements, I believe she never announced the next station. Her announcements going as follows: Station, interchange, destination. I've found it quite amusing how there's no introduction such as "This station is" on her announcements. Very brisk, much like the old Michael Meech announcements. I think it's also worth saying that the Northern line also used to have the same style of destination announcements, replaced by the ridiculously verbose announcement we have now.
