Is there anywhere the digital single sheet of A4 that tells you which fares are going up and what the new price will e for standard journeys after the increase? Mr Googlr, and even more so Mr Bing, have not enabled me to find it. Apologies if this is just the whinge of a lapsed IT user...

How can one search engine fail to find a specific result ‘even more’ than another?

How can one search engine fail to find a specific result ‘even more’ than another? If you run over a dead pheasant with your car, is the pheasant 'more dead'?

Safe to say if it's not on tfl.gov.uk the fare increases have not been announced in detail

How can one search engine fail to find a specific result ‘even more’ than another? It depends on how each website domain is indexed and the algorithms used to deliver what the AI believes is the most relevant results that the user would want. You can also produce more relevant search results using various syntax. For example, you can search for pdf's in google using the following syntax before the search term: filetype:pdf Hence if you wanted to find a pdf document of TfL fares, you could try: filetype:pdf tfl fares Some search engines have more syntax (and therefore more capability to produce relevant results) than others.

This is all true, but it doesn't explain how one search engine can fail to find a specific result more than another. If you ask for results with information about X, then one search engine can produce different results to another, and possibly get a lot closer to what you want, even though neither produce the precise information you want. But if you want a specific page, then any engine either fails or succeeds. One cannot fail more than another.

The national rail fares increase has been delayed until March but with an average 2.5% rise.

Anyone else have trouble with the caps and travelcard price page on the TFL site? I’m trying to find the cap price for Z 1 to 4 with a disabled persons railcard but all of the zone combinations give me an error.

If only TFL had suffered a farebox reduction of only 10% ("decimated")........

The off-peak fares avoiding zone 1 will cost £1.50, £1.60 or £1.70 depending on how many zones are passed through. That means my trips to West Croydon are going to go up - but its still a bargain compared to what it would cost if I went to East Croydon!
