The original bridge is split in two to allow one part to be used by people to cross the tracks without entering the station. This would be difficult to replicate on the new bridge whilst leaving space for wheelchairs.

The original Amersham bridge had a connection added to a second bridge built some time post war. I think it was built to allow access to the station car park, which until the 1980s was on the other side of the tracks from the station entrance. When the multi-story car park opened, the old car park closed and the link between the two bridges locked out of use. I think the route across the second bridge is not a public right of way. So the building of a new step free bridge need not have impacted on this bridge / route.
The existing station bridge gets very busy at peak times and is not in pristine condition.

I have some news that Debden looks at least 50% complete, with little hoardings remaining. Video reference:
EDIT: Corrected link. Apologies.

I have some news that Debden looks at least 50% complete, with little hoardings remaining. Video reference: EDIT: Corrected link. Apologies. Debden along with Ickenham and Harrow-on-the-Hill are now substantially complete with cladding and external finishes applied. All three have had their hoarding space reduced significantly reflecting the advanced stage that works have now reached. Ickenham already has the lift compartments and doors installed. Harrow has signage in place but lift compartment installation has yet to take place. A visit yesterday to Sudbury Hill shows cladding of the lift towers is almost complete and internal fit out under way. The lift tower at Harrow (Platforms 1&2) showing the reduced hoarding and the completed systems on the new over bridge linking the lifts with the existing station. Signage in place on for three lift towers.

Hmm I remember Osterley had an update too, so that leaves only Wimbledon Park in the blue. Anyone knows? Btw cool retaining features at Harrow.

Do the new lifts have a door close button? The Otis lifts at King’s Cross and other stations that have identical lifts behave unexpectedly when the door close button is held and I want to know if the new lifts do the same thing.

What do you mean by behave unexpectedly?
Is some sort of alarm message played, telling you to refrain from holding the doors?

If there’s something obstructing the doors when the door close button is held the doors close on the obstruction, if the doors close all the way (eg a piece of paper) the lift doesn’t move.

A recent pass through Ickenham shows that step-free works are into final testing with completion very near. All platform hoardings have been taken down and wayfinding signage along with additional help points are all in situ. Click here if tweet fails to appear

There has been a delay to Wimbledon Park becoming step-free, panels for the link bridge were awaited but now delivered.

Ironic but not that surprising due to its listed status, but still a bad delay

I think it very unlikely that the station being listed has anything to do with the delay to commissioning. Any issues that caused would have come at the design stage.
