Over the last week or so I have noticed trains having issues when departing on the eastbound towards Fairlop. The train starts to move, has a little difficulty then proceeds on with no issue. Today - 21/05/20 the train slowly and gradually accelerated out of Barkingside before slowly gaining speed towards Fairlop. Does anyone know what the issue is?

I have had no issues there, and I am a driver on the Central Line. It could be people leaning on the doors causing the motors to drop out momentarily, or the motors just tripping out on overload. A quick press of a button will solve that problem. Taking in to account the recent drop in passenger numbers, I doubt it is my first suggestion.

Sadly I have to disagree. I've noticed some sort of traction problem departing Barkingside on the Inner Rail, its been there for years although not all trains are affected. There's a similar problem departing Platform 2 at Hainault on the Inner.

Went through Barkingside inner twice on the first half, there was a definite lurch right after moving off.

It can’t be anybody leaning on doors as there has only been a few people getting off the train with me. I know about people leaning on the doors causing trouble but this is happening when the train is probably at 5% load?

Went through Barkingside inner twice on the first half, there was a definite lurch right after moving off. It didn’t happen on Friday afternoon on the return trip but from Monday through Thursday in the afternoons it has happened every time. Exactly as you describe it, only the day I posted this the train took longer than usual to get moving, it just coasted at a very low speed then gradually increased speed towards Fairlop.

Something set by Wood Lane with the heat perhaps?

There's also a lurch at East Acton on the west That’s been there for quite some time unless it’s been fixed and happening again The last time I went over that and it happened was as tho the juice rails had dropped
