I like doing rare track moves and I notice in the WTT that there is an early morning passenger working from Woodford to Epping that is booked to run through the Debden siding.
I have tried to do this move several times on random days in the past (even tried to do it one Sunday morning) but to no avail, the train always gets routed via the normal eastbound line.
Does anyone know if this train does gets routed as booked and if so any day/s of the week it is more certain to do so. Have I just been unlucky in the past?

That was train 105 - 05.35. I suppose it depends on what mood the signaller is in. With the current ad hoc Covid 19 emergency sevice it probably wont run any way

There are usually some "rusty rail" moves on Sunday mornings but on the very few occasions I've been working an early turn on a Sunday they've always been left out

Is there a "return working", entering the reversing siding from the north? I couldn't see one in the WTT When Debden had two central reversing roads, were they both accessible from either end?

There isn't a shunt signal or a limit of shunt board east (north) of the siding which would allow that move (ditto Newbury Park)

According to Carta Metro there is no access to the siding from the westbound other than reversing from the platform.

Both roads were accessible from either platform at Debden (eastbound or westbound). Being true sidings neither of them, of course, were accessible from the Theydon Bois end
Here (I'm sure there are better pictures out there) you can see shunt signal LU11 down on the ground by the signal box with routes to both sidings from the westbound platform.
