Or Marylebone, before it was replaced with the current one.

Whilst I think I see where you're both going with this - might the fact that these treads are flat, rather than stepped, mean it's somewhere else?
EDIT: Then again, it could be the top or bottom I spose.........

I think the treads at Greenford are lighter than the ones in the photo.

I did think about it possibly being a travelator (it does appear to possibly be a bit long for the flat bit at the top/bottom of an escalator)... but couldn't think of where a wooden one would be found... (i'm thinking Bank might have had wood, but that it would have been replaced before this photo was taken). It also appears to be daylit... I'm sticking with Greenford, but if it's not there maybe it's a red herring and it's something like in the LTM or Depot...

Said escalator is now at the bottom of the stairs to the mezzanine near the loading bay entrance to the Museum Depot. Some volunteers managed to put it together without any instructions.

I thought I had this one nailed! Now I have all the URL's and all the answers due to backing ChrisM as and when required. And I can honestly say that my answer initially was embarrassing to say the least, suffice to say that it isn't anything to do with HSBC, Barclays etc etc....

Done a cheeky bit of research... and more convinced it's Greenford... and it's the top. The bottom has about 4 treads worth on the flat... the top 6 (and there's more light up the top).

I'd agree that it's Greenford.

Answer:
This is the wooden escalator at Greenford, photographed in late January/early February this year (about 2 days after London had the very heavy snow). I can't remember whether this is of the top or the bottom of the escalator though. Later, I'll try and work it out from the times of the other photos I took if people are interested.

This is the top of the escalator, photographed at about 10:55 am on the 9th of February this year.
