So there I was at Wembley Central one afternoon last week. As I arrived on the Northbound platform, the departure board read
1. Harrow & Wealdstone 3 mins 2. (time) Watford Junction 7 mins 3. Harrow & Wealdstone 10 Mins
The Bakerloo train was announced. "The next train at Platform 1 ..." So we waited ... and waited ... and waited. After 5-6 minutes, another announcement but for the London Overground Watford Junction service which then approached. This is not the first time a Bakerloo Line train has "vanished" but is rare to hear it being announced as though it is really going to show up.. Where do they disappear to?

Just a suggestion but could it just have been short tripped at Stonebridge Pk and carried the wrong running information forward? I have seen something similar at Northwick Pk/Preston Rd when a train gets sent via the Fast lines due to late running.

No, this is quite clearly a case of the UK rail network attaining infinite connectivity.
Expert many weird happenings.

There is a classic short SF story by ?Philip K Dick that tells of an extension to an american subway system that seemingly turns a loop line into a Moebius Strip and regularly a train goes missing as the line folds back on itself and becomes a continuous double-sided loop.

That is what I was alluding to in my post above. I thought is was by Kurt Vonnegut, so I checked. It turns out it was by someone called Armin Joseph Deutsch - a name I cannot remember ever encountering despite having read the story. Twice. Too late Mwaaa haa haa ha. However, I don't think I'll be able to make the post for an infinite amount of time as the track plan seems to be recursive.
