Did anyone get to see the renaming of Piccadilly Circus as Picardilly Circus on Wednesday / Thursday 15th, 16th January 2020?
Apparently this was an advertising stunt by Amazon to promote the showing of Star Trek on their TV services.

Geoff Marshall tweeted about it, and so will probably have a video out at some point. I wanted to go and see it but unfortunately wasn't able to.

A few photos (hopefully!) (tweet) There were supposed to be special announcements but I did not hear any. Also, I did not find the transporter room, so I was unable to beam myself home. Simon

Geoff posted this tweet - which points to a rival way to travel - but only for those who like their atoms scrambled during the process - and trust that they will be reassembled in the correct order afterwards!

you describe a journey on the underground well, but what happens to you if you use a transporter?

you describe a journey on the underground well, but what happens to you if you use a transporter? Ah now thats a good question... your atoms are scrambled by the transporter and beamed from a to b. Then you must hope that they will be correctly reassembled afterwards. I actually ask in the film why anyone would want to use a transporter when they can travel on a London Underground tube train? Its right at the end of the film, mere moments before the train doors close and I set off for my journey home. The film can be seen below, as I am hoping that some people from outside of London (even overseas) will watch it I added a couple of street scenes to help people who do not know London to gain a sense of the location of this station. Enjoy! Simon

Well it was Geoff Marshall who used the transporter - not me!
I took the tube train, and remained consciously aware of my surroundings the whole time (apart from the short while when I took a nap)
There is another issue with teleportation which even that YouTube did not broach. What if you rematerialise partially inside something - like a wall, table, chair.
