Well, for this weekend.
When I was boarding my southbound train at Chesham this morning I saw it was a fast to Harrow. I thought this just meant the train was defective and it’d be better run a curtailed service than cancel the train. However my train terminated on platform 2 before forming fast Amersham.
I am interested in the rationale behind this as the normal thing would be for Amersham/Cheshams to run stopping services to Wembley. Not that I’m complaining, it has made an otherwise routine journey slightly interesting.

Probably temporary thing linked to the new signalling that's being comissioned this weekend.

All Chesham/Amersham-Harrow trains are fast to/from Moor Park today and tomorrow
Probably because 36 trains are required for this service, the same as a normal Saturday but trains are unable to operate Wembley-Aldgate until after 1200, so they must be use on other services

The training shuttle service was extended through to Aldgate for full service after ATO was signed into revenue shortly after 1230 |

Reversing Amersham Chesham services at Harrow 2 reduces pressure on Neasden depot as a reversing point.
Amersham Chesham, platform 2 Harrow.
Watford, Harrow sidings
Uxbridge, Neasden
It also reduces staff numbers required to operate when Many drivers are needed to be in the city.
