Noticed in passing that the Sugar Loaf Inn, Little Chalfont, near to Chalfont & Latimer Station has been renovated and renamed The Metropolitan. I will force myself to have a pint next time I'm passing, in case there is anything railway related in the decor. There is a Metro Lounge near Amersham station, so this seems to be a bit of a trend.
Incidentally, it amuses me to look at the roundels boldly proclaiming "Underground" Outside Chalfont & Latimer station, just by the bridge carrying the line high above the road. Small things ......

I was working in Washington DC (USA) many years ago and we dined in a restaurant that prided itself on its authentic British railway decor; it modeled itself on Clapham Junction. When I complained that the apparently genuine station lead in boards proclaiming Warrington and Skipton were wrong for Clapham Junction I was told (by my associates) to "shut up" and to "get a life". Life is so unfair.

Perhaps this is too much topic drift- www.whitechapelsf.com/about"Whitechapel is the vision of mixologist Alex Smith (Novela, Gitane, Gather, Honor Bar), Smuggler’s Cove owner Martin Cate, and John Park (Novela, Kaiyo). Whitechapel is not just a destination for gin lovers, but for everyone looking to experience remarkable cocktails and expertly prepared food in an incredible setting." I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the decor, but I'm told both the gin collection and cocktails are amazing.

When I lived in Uxbridge there was a pub near the station called The Metropolitan. As I recall it was quite good; is it still there?

Don't suppose they cook at the bar on a fireman's shovel yet?

So that's Amersham, Chalfont, and Uxbridge all sorted. Chesham and Watford need to up their game!

There is of course The Metropolitan Bar at Baker Street, but I don't recall anything by that name at Aldgate

Off topic: one year we should start at Penderels Oak and then do a circle line tour: twenty minutes at an establishment somewhere near each station.

12 hours for 36 stations at 20 minutes each (excluding travel time between the station and the pub) is just about doable but I suspect that I would not manage the 36 pints! I must get into some serious training.
Edit: the 36 includes two for Paddington - one each for Bishop's Road and Praed Street

Don’t think I know I’d never find my way home after a stint like that, that’s if I survived it😂

I certainly wouldn’t do it if I had a pint at each station (or even a half) but a caña in most places (and the occasional orange juice) might just be possible.

Nice to hear that the Sugar Loaf has reopened, it was still boarded up when last I went past. I had assumed that the drinkers had all gone to the bar that had opened in the shops in the station approach, or has that one given up the ghost?

I have it in my calendar to discuss Christmas once all the schools go back and people are out of summer holiday mode. Less than four months to Boxing Day 😂🙃
