Hi again, I am wondering whether there are any photos of the Pinner Station goods yard that was made defunct in 1967, now on the site of the Sainsburys and station car park. I have found but three images of the goods yard, one from plane imagery taken in 1945 which is extremely blurry, and two again from an aerial view which are not very clear. Here is the clearest photo I have of the goods yard.
Are there any more photos that exist out there? I have checked the Museum collection, and they sadly do not have any photos of the goods yard, or any containing it.

From memory, there was an engine shed in the bottom right of the photo, and the coal sidings extended to the right about doubling what is in your pic. Also, outside the yard proper, were two loops, one (I think) only was electrified, these were the length of a full train, ans ran almost to the base of the bridge taking the A404 towards Harrow. I too have been searching for some Pinner yard pics, so thanks for posting this one!

Wow, DWS you were right about the shed, but, Slugabed-what a find! My home from 1945 to 63 is shown on the first map, but not on the second. I'm pretty sure that the house was built in 1895, so maybe that dates the map as before that date.

Thank you Twihlet! It's possible that the date on the map is just a revision, rather than a full re-survey. I've found those NLS maps invaluable both for work and personal interest...be careful, though, they can be dangerously addictivbe!

Google Earth provides this image, I have found; dates from airplane photographs from 1945.
This photo is from the same source as the first photo I posted, Britain from Above. I find it odd that the only photographs that were taken of the sidings, bar one, seems to have been taken from an aerial view. It is also nice to see things such as the Langham Theatre that my mum talks about before it was replaced by the Lidl that stands now...
and thank you to goldenarrow and slugabed for those great finds!
