Has anyone else noted the increasing use of tape- yards and yards of it, plus odd bits a few inches long - around the seams of where the body shells of the cars meet the end vestibules ,not normally at the driving ends. I presume water ingress is the problem and the tape is made of some sort of adhesive bitumastic stuff. More and more of the tape, in long and short lengths, seems to be being plastered on the cars. I know "the world runs on gaffer tape",but should the 92s? What is this stuff and is it a permanent repair?

Water leakage was found to be a problem quite soon after introduction.

I wasn't a member of the Forum then---but reading through, most of the entries aren't about the tape lash-up; rather, they're about the somewhat minimal interior revamp the 92s were given at the time. My point about the tape is that there now seems much more of it (as someone said, there's always been some), and not just along the vertical seams, odd bits being applied horizontally. Do TFL seriously expect the 92TS to last until 2034,or hs that changed?

A new shed is being constructed within Acton Works for this... I wrote about it last year HERE

This thread will give details of the forthcoming refurbishment of the '92 Stock, this does include all the end-car panels which weren't done under the previous work. 92TS refurb/replacement
