Recently seen on certain FB pages was a picture of a DLR train derailed on the depot exit. the picture has subsequently been withdrawn in a move to keep matters quiet so I've been reliably informed.
My source reckons it was a trial move for auto working out of the depot; the train reportedly ran past 2 signals at danger before becoming derailed. So much for full auto operation!

If your source is correct then running past two signals at danger and then derailing at the depot exit suggests that the derailment was the result of trap points working as designed rather than any failure of the infrastructure or a fault with the train wheels/bogies.

I think it was passing two red signals at danger that elicited the 'so much for full auto operation!' comment.

Yes, it proves trap points work!
If ever I could find out how to post pictures on here I could do so. th tutorial doesn't appear to show me how to do that.
