There have been a lot of signal failures at Kennington recently - with prolonged suspensions several times over the last few days. Again this morning...
Is it the same fault that keeps re-occurring?

Yesterday was a fault with VCC2 which caused the massive issue as to what extent I don’t really know

Now no service on the whole line due to the signalling fault.

I wonder if it's related to the new construction? (if you disturb things, there's always a risk it will cause faults)

Yesterdays service recovery was also hampered by a points failure at Archway. Today, services through Kennington via the City and the Cross are expected to resume (fingers crossed) at around 12:00. That would suggest that repairs trackside to the induction loop cables are also being made.

Now the line is suspended southbound via Bank for the rest of the night and potentially into tomorrow morning.
Is this just the orange induction loop wires that is causing the fault? As I was under the impression that this is the only signalling related equipment on the track in the bank area and if it was a vehicle control centre VCC fault this would suspend the line in both directions would r it?
Thanks ✌️

Southbound service via the City will remain suspended for the reminder of today. Station posters and announcements are advising that all journeys on the line tonight should be completed by 21:30.

Looks like the efforts to fix the system overnight were successful. Line now running a Good Service.
Hopefully that means they've gotten to the bottom of it and also know what went wrong so it can be fixed more quickly if it happens again.

I'm led to believe that the fault was resolved by swapping a component in the signalling centre.

Cannibalisation of critical signal computer components. Now where have we heard that before?

It's a pretty standard technique, though in this circumstance I'm led to believe it wasn't a standard line replaceable unit.
