Greenford bay platform Up starter GE29 for the DMUs towards Greenford South Junction. Former GWR lower quadrant semaphore actuated by Greenford East box. I believe that the speed limit is "15"? *************************************************** Apart from semaphores, the local to me former Marchwood station environs on the Fawley branch, shares a peculiarity with Greenford. That is on the former Up GWR-GCR Joint there is a siding apparently with the rare yellow on black disc signal: www.roscalen.com/signals/Greenford/060429/YellowDisc.jpgMW10R is a distant shunt signal from the Marchwood MOD branch and there is also one in Eastleigh East Yard on the ground, save that both of those are virtually semi-circles whereas the Greenford one is circular.

It is indeed 15mph. The descending gradient is the biggest clue as to the location, with the E/B Central alongside.

I'm with those two. There isn't anywhere else on the Underground where you can see a GW Lower Quadrant Semaphore.

I was pondering whether there are any semaphores adjacent to LU lines now other than at Greenford?

There are semaphores on a set of back roads in the giant Willesden depot complex near the DC lines north of Stonebridge Park. They look most unusual, as the back roads are electrified with OHLE.

I gather that the signals TOK referred to are controlled by Willesden Carriage Sidings South Signal Box. I am extremely impressed at his knowledge as I have found no evidence online to date that they are still there!
There are of course semaphores at East Kew Junction (East Kew Jn SB) on the freight lines, plus around Crouch Hill and Tottenham Green Lanes stations, controlled from Harringay Park Junction signalbox on the Up GOBLIN.

I hope your friendly with Mr Bigland, because he is very strict about people posting his pictures without his permission.

I hope your friendly with Mr Bigland, because he is very strict about people posting his pictures without his permission. I'm not sure what you are referring to here, as the only thing I can see is that Oracle posted links to Mr Biglands fotopic site. I fail to see how this could in any way be a cause for a complaint, as it is the fundamental way the internet works.

I am not knowledgeable about the net, if doing a link is fine, fair enough. I just thought showing a picture [From Paul Bigland's site] and not the main home page, might land the poster in trouble. Sorry for ruffling any feathers.

TB, you are most welcome to comment. I probably know more than most about international copyrights and other intellecual property rights. Believe you me I am really annoyed that I found recently that someone had copied wholesale my hard work and then just pasted it into their site with no acknowledgement. My site is shareware and freeware but it would be polite to acknowledge and post a link to show where the info came from.
I have in fact posted another address as it has some better photos on an index page. Mr Bigland or another actually posted links on RailUK Forum so there is a precedent.
It is webiquette I gather to quote the full address of the link as a viewer can then see where the photos came from and see who posted them. I have done this with Solidbond's site in the past, i.e. posted the html link as his info is on the page, and the photo is part of that page.
You might like to know that I have used web photos in VINTAGE ROADSCENE recently, and for possible use in the magazine with permission. It seems to elicit a favourable response if you ask, and say that acknowledgment and perhaps fee (or free publication) would be given.
