I'd go with Moorgate, at the escalators from the Northern to the Northern City.

I have wondered that... I think they might be smaller versions of floodgates... but thats just my thinking!

They look more like blast doors for using the station as a bomb shelter. I recall seeing similar doors on the Piccadilly line and thinking bomb shelter.
