Today I bring you the question I had originally scheduled for yesterday. It comes in three parts and (fingers crossed) I should be able to post part 2 at about 6-7pm and part 3 about 10-11pm. (there is no larger version of this part available)

A stupid thought came to my mind about the former Met Loco siding at Baker Street. Based on its appearing to be SSL and adjacent to an old retaining wall.

Looks like the east end of Whitechapel to me. Yup, as in "leave it on the stops". East end siding. Can you still do that?

It looks an awful lot like the buffer stop at Acton for one of the works shunt sidings.

TOK is wrong for once!! Whitechapel 26 road that is It is a C stock only siding (another to go when S stock arrives : . Once a train is stabled there, platform 1 can only be used to reverse trains west on account that such a stabled train will lie across the points at the east end of platform 1.

Answer:
Well done to Tom, Tubeprune, Colin and Aspect (who sent me a PM), it seems you only needed the first part to correctly identify this as 26 road at Whitechapel, looking east - I'm impressed.
The three pictures are all TMBA's handywork.

May I ask if it is ever used and under what circumstances please? I have seen it used twice ... both times when a seriously defective C stock needed to be put out of the way until it could be moved at slow speed after close of traffic. This would generally only occur if the defect was such that the C couldn't be shunted onto 25 road or was now causing such a delay shunting it to 25 road would take too long ..or perhaps if 25 road was out of comission, under a possesion or already occupied !
