ianvisits has been round to the long over due reopening of the Southbank ticket hall located under the former Shell centre. One of the photos shows what I think is an additional exit only gate line as yet unused.

How long was it closed for ? Local newspaper article is quoted as saying that it closed on 15th November 2015 making the closure about three and half years. That date coincided with the buildings above the ticket hall being cleared for demolition including removing public access to the footbridge that used to take you all the way from the Mainline station through the Shell complex down to Southbank. |

This article states it was due to close on 15 November 2015 and due to reopen in Summer 2018. This tweet confirms that it closed on schedule.
