Today brings a one-part question (Click for a larger version). Yesterday's question is also still open, as nobody yet has the right answer.

Whitechapel - looking south, below the ticket office (almost!) the line on the left going east. Robin

I'd definitely say the exit from 25rd at Whitechapel. I was there on thursday doing a rusty rail move for road training purposes. That bricked up area by the signal, I'm assuming that was the tunnel to the London Hospital. Can anybody confirm this?

I wonder if there are any old photos about of the station, which might show this part of the station... I have checked on the LT Museum collection websearch and have not revealed anything...

Just to add to that, someone asked in one of the forums once about the dead bodies that were transported on trains to Whitechapel mortuary, well the signal in the picture is placed directly in front off the tunnel that they used to unload bodies from flatback wagons into the hospital and finally the mortuary. I'm not too sure if the tunnel still exists because the P.way use part of it now.

Well done, this is "Whitechapel platform 4 faceing East", as photographed by TMBA. (click for a larger version) Its not platform 4, its 25 Road an it does not have a platform, the photo may well have been taken from platform 4.
