I've always thought it odd that access to the platforms via the stairs wasn't an option anyway. The nature of the stairs would limit the number of people reaching the platforms anyway.

how are they going to rescue stranded people halfway down? (the old, the knackered of knees, the too many bags in hands etc).
also, there will be one tourist who changes their mind halfway down and tries to walk up...
I'm not sure this will be a successful idea, I think at the very least, they should be a bit clearer about why you might want to use the lift access. 96 stairs doesn't sound like a lot and I can see a lot of people overestimating their ability to walk all the way down them. (couldn't they say "which is [x-many] floors" (or "[x] times the height of Nelson's column"))

Is it 15 floors? And is it really?

I'd like to think that there will be suitable signage at the top, in a similar manner to that at Covent Garden dissuading those who are considering the stairs over the lift queue.

I don't like lifts, and will always use stairs in preference. Hoe does that affect people like me, who won't get in a lift to go up?

When I worked at Camden Town Station 15 years ago, they trialled this concept. The only issue was at the bottom of the spiral staircase and the corridors to the platforms, with people stopping and congregating, Deploying Staff to these areas to move the flow along helped cure the issue.

This is a problem throughout the network and it bothers me greatly. People standing and waiting next to ticket barriers and waiting for trains near platform entrances are two others.

Is it 15 floors? And is it really? Domextic steps are ~13-15 steps. So it is like walking downstairs 6 to 7 times.

I’m pretty sure the one-way system already operates for a set time on a Saturday already? So staff must be used to any potential issues and be active in warning people who might struggle with the stairs (for example I think there’s a sign that states pushchairs must be folded)

I think the poster is referring to what has become a meme in some less mature corners after a sign appeared in one or two places (only) around four years ago. Can we not perpetuate this nonsense here, please.

I would assume this relief is partly something to do with Camden Town new entrance being put on hold.

Going against the reasonable request of a moderator is particularly frowned on by the administrators. Sorry, I thought that if I posted the link it would enable people to see what the problem was and dissuade them from any further discussion.
