Is this still running - or has it finished for 2018?
I ask because today I was in the right places (White City, Ealing Broadway) at the right time to see it, but it did not turn up... however within a few hours I did see the Piccadilly Line and the Subsurface RATs at Park Royal and Rayners Lane.

Nominally yes, but as is pointed out every year the Central line Sandite runs as required and may not be out for every trip, or indeed every day. The Metropolitan and Piccadilly line Sandites are both included by temporary amendments to the Working Timetable with no Rubs as Required legend. It is for reasons exactly such as this why we prohibit the postings of special workings, as you have been told before.

That is a very different time to the timetable!
In a way its strange, since every time I've looked for it the eastern RAT seems to run at about the time posted in the timetable.
However, experience over the years has taught me that as these RAT trains are non-passenger workings so their timings can and sometimes do change - even on a day to day basis!
Since we are now in December I suppose that their operating season will soon be over - for this year.

Met Line RAT (D78) - Runs every booked slot unless in for cleaning/exam/fault finding East Central Line RAT (8 car 62TS) - Again, Runs every booked slot unless in for cleaning/exam/fault finding West Central Line RAT (5 car 62TS)- When required, normally does 1 of 2 daily runs. Will be the first to be pulled from duties, most likely will only do 2/3 more trips this year.

Went out today to try and get some photos of the RAT... seemed to be more than half an hour late so I had to head home but such is life. Did it end up running?

The Ruislip Sandite train has now finished for the season and the crews are booked for other duties. All other trains are running. Im on the Cockfosters RAT this week and looking out there, most of the leaves are down or crispy on the trees so have no oils in them to cause issues, so this may be the beginning of the end for the rest?

Yesterday I was on the footpath bridge over the track near to Sainsbury's Newbury Park and saw the afternoon RAT pass by somewhat later than timetabled. What I really wanted was to see (and film) the first service train travelling towards Barkingside which comes after the RAT, as this is usually routed to follow the RAT via the siding track and a little-used link back to the inner rail (ie: the track used by trains towards Barkingside and Hainault). Alas, the next service train was scheduled to end its journey at Newbury Park and therefore used the siding as a reversing point - rather than a through road.
A few years ago I saw a Newbury Park terminating train being sent into the siding even though the RAT was at the station and waiting for a green signal so that it could leave the station via that siding! In the end the RAT had to travel through the tunnels to Leytonstone via Gants Hill etc. Maybe seeing the RAT was an unexpected treat for passengers at the three subterranean stations it passed through; for me this unscheduled diversion was a nuisance - because I lost my photo opportunity and because I was unable to see it passing through any of the three subterranean stations.
As for the west end RAT, I'm not surprised that its been withdrawn as this often happens around mid December. So, I shall have to wait for next year, hope that the RATs will still be running - and try to avoid going away on holiday during the RAT season (which is what I did this year).
