For the Bank station upgrade, there will be 11 weeks (May - August 2020) where Northern line track is closed southbound between Kennington and Moorgate, but trains will still run northbound (non-stop through Bank). I was wondering: how will this work operationally? Is it known what the service pattern will be on the different sections during the closure (or has there been speculation)? In particular, will the Charing Cross branch need a much higher frequency southbound than northbound to compensate for the lack of southbound trains on the Bank branch? What frequency can be sustained southbound between Camden Town and Moorgate? What frequency can/will be run northbound on the Bank branch? I couldn't seem to find anything on this, but presumably it's been worked out somewhere!

Can the ATO be altered so trains do not have to actually stop at bank or will they have to pause there?

I couldn't seem to find anything on this, but presumably it's been worked out somewhere! I suspect they will run a limited southbound service to Moorgate which can reverse in the southbound platform. For this to happen, there will have to be a slightly reduced northbound service via the Bank branch. The Charing Cross branch will be increased, in particular on the southbound line. Can the ATO be altered so trains do not have to actually stop at bank or will they have to pause there? Station skips can be programmed into the ATO system.

London Reconnections have provided their prediction for the planned service during the Bank closure (full article here):

This same closure previously happened approx 22 years ago. All newly qualified drivers had to hike the tunnels between Moorgate and Kennington to get line nowledge for the re-opening.

I wonder whether that's needed this time. No visible signals now of course, a load of signs I suppose. Can you be familiarised on those on the Cab Sim? I'm sure someone here will know.

I'd guess that instructors at least would need to hike the new tunnels and the approach to them.
