Saw a very balanced piece by Tom Edwards on the BBC news website today on the challenges faced by staff at Victoria station. As someone whom has worked within the transport industry, I strongly advocate this style of reporting as it sort of serves as a myth buster for the potential thousands of readers who may not really care about the logistical marvel of the transport network but may at least care to know the rational reason they were held up. It's also nice to see a deescalated scenario reported at a time when the railways mention in major new outlets seems to be of an incleassignly hostile and/or territorial tone. I understand of course that tastes have changed and the old order has the likes of social media to compete with, mediums that unashamedly stoke that "Them vs Us" mentality. But I take my hat off to the individual(s)who were involved in this piece because whilst there is understandably alot of anger towards the running of London's transport network (especially when things go awry), articles such as this may help to deflect this anger away from staff on the frontline through the medium of understanding. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-45891638
