Today, we remember with sadness that the MOORGATE tube disaster occurred 30years ago this morning, 28 February 1975.
43 persons, including Motorman Leslie Newson, died in the accident involving Set272 at 08.46, the cause of which has never really been fully answered.

Indeed. Thirty years ago today the Underground experienced one of the worst disasters in its long history.

Thanks for putting up that timely reminder.
I did notice it on the BBC News web site just before I went into work, but didn't have time to make reference to it.
Although it occured long before I worked 'on the job' I remember the incident well.
My thoughts go out to all involved, be they survivors, families of those who lost their lives, staff or passengers.
