Many (all?) of the ventilation shafts between stations in deep-level tunnels have the capability to be used for emergency evacuation, should the need arise. When was the last time this actually happened?

Pretty sure it happened during 1993 ish on the Central line via the Old Ford fan shaft. That was during a major power failure which shut down the line east of Liverpool Street for around 3 days.

It wasn’t just the central line which was affected. From memory the feed from Greenwich power station which enters the system at Mile End was damaged
