Hoping someone can help I have a couple of questions which relate to the original signals and rolling stock.
1. Walthamstow sidings are close to the station and have an up gradient I suspect this was to do with going further north and surfacing at Wood Street. The sidings have trap points now what would the position of these trap points have to do with trains entering/leaving the platform from/to Blackhorse Road.
2. Same sidings was there an instruction to place 2 handbrakes on due to being on an up gradient, this was before spring applied parking brakes were introduced.
Hope this is clear.
TIA

If the original units had spring parking brakes there wouldn't be need for a notice to apply handbrakes. but I never trianed on the Vic line so can't give a definitive answer.

They did not have spring applied parking brakes until much later don't have a date. I am after the time when they had hydraulic handbrakes.
