Today's picture is the closest I could get to one showing a Tunnel of Love for valentines day. (no larger version available)

Definately a C stock and not on the north side of the Circle, so between Westminster and Bromley by Bow?

It's not Fulham Broadway - the eastbound station starter is not in the six-foot, but mounted on the ceiling.
Could it be Mansion House?

I also think it's Fulham Broadway despite TOK's doubts.

The stairs don't look right for Fulham Broadway.

The stairs don't look right for Fulham Broadway. That's what I thought. But look again. I'm going for Fulham. Though I havent travelled down there for about 18 months and used to every shift.

If the train is berthed it's a C stock length platform. I've tried mirroring the image to see if FBY fits and it looks better but the the opo's are still on the correct side. Interesting!!!!

It looks a lot like Fulham Broadway to me. But that starter doesn't fit!
Also, if the photo is taken from the tunnel immediately to the west of the station then the stairs are facing the wrong way! (They are at the west end of the platforms).
Basically, I'm completely confused.

Oh blimey - now you've got me at it!!!
Hmm - probably VERY wrong, but I'm not convinced it's not a Met station; I just can't place it on the District.
Is that pointwork on both roads just this side of the platforms?
Long shot - bay roads at Aldgate.
I'll get me coat!!

I worked at Fulham on a few occasions during my CSA placement and I do remember that object being there; I just can't remember what it is! I think the photo was taken from the West Brompton end looking towards Wimbledon after dark, which would explain why we appear to be looking down a tunnel. I think the tunnel outline is in fact the overbridge just beyond the platforms.

Sorry Seth - don't agree - and I certainly don't remember anything in the six foot - on either road!
The station looks too cluttered for Fulham.
And I note that a great deal of trouble has been taken to edit out all the lights on the front of the train, as well as the destination blind!
Sticking with Aldgate!

Sorry Dave, it's not Aldgate. There are four tracks leading into the platform area and the curvature is RH not LH from Liverpool St. I'll go for Fulham Bdy.

Couldn't remember where the split to the platforms came, but forgot about the direction of the curvature! (Bows to superior knowledge of former Met man )

Well, I still don't think it's Fulham Broadway due to that object in the six-foot, but the staircase does make it look an awful lot like it.
I think the clue here is the pillars on the opposite platform to the C stock.

Answer:This is Fulham Broadway, photographed by Aspect. Although I don't know any more details than that, Colin sent me a PM yesterday morning identifiying it as Fulham Broadway and suggesting it was taken from the front of a westbound train. The unmodified picture is below -

I don't know, I've never been to Fulham Broadway. It is on my list to photograph next time I'm in the capital, but that wont be until the beginning of March.

I must say, having taken the picture, when I came to download it from the camera it took me a while to work out and remember where i had actually taken it !! Those steps really don't seem that prominent or noticeable when your driving ! Seth pretty neatly sums it all up 100% in his post repeated above, especially the tunnel effect. Chris decided to blank out the blind and lamps. Is the post in the 6 foot an old signal mount that remains after the signal was moved into the air ? Picture was indeed taken from my Westbound train whilst i was waiting for the pictured train to move off !

Well b*gger me - incredible forshortening effect I think! Seems to tighten the radii enormously and, as aspect says. I REALLY don't recall the stairway looking like that. Who says the camera never lies

I expect you'll not be the only driver paying more attention than normal to the station next time you head down that way!

the object in the 6 foot could be a 10 core box (for running signalling cables) and the trainstop valve mounted on a post looks like the photo was taken pre refurb of the station

Same boat as Colin, I used to work there too. Spent many an hour wandering along those platforms so I know them well.
