This picture was substituted in at the last minute, as the original was too easy and I've yet to work out how to make it less so. I don't doubt that you'll be able to identify the line from the train, but features that would make it immediately obvious have been obfuscated. (Click for a full size version - 833 KB)

Total stab in the dark, as I've never been there - Kentish Town?

No idea, but there are plenty of hints. 1. - A terminal destination; 2. - the "fencing" is a big giveaway. A partitioned platform? 3. The blanked out bit suggests a fairly long station name, plus the platform tiling graphics? Plus you guys who can immediately identify the line from the TS picture... :-)
Good Luck, and thanks Chris M for putting up such good pix for us wot just enjoy good pix of LU stock :-)

Yup, Ealing Broadway - looking towards the nation rail platforms on platform 4. Left is east, right west. Also think those railing have been repainted blue.....

Yeah concur with me trains colleague, red grab poles, turned black and the lack of the Metro paper all over the floor. As for the location, all seem plausible, South Ruislip is interesting though.

No billboard on the NR side of the platform at South Ruislip. Plus from memory there's a scrap yard and a days inn hotel by the NR platforms - but I'm never right in these quizes.

Don't tempt me. I feel like that posh one in Top Gear. Every time they have a race, It's always Jeremy or Richard that win. The posh one never wins. I never win these quizes

I do not think Ealing Broadway as there are the mains and reliefs on NR there.

Don't worry if you can't win the quizzes... I'm sure you know more about your end of the line than I do...

the rails were blanked out for some reason... weren't the W&C 92ts 'run in' on the central line before being flushed down the drain?

The correct answer was already given - I'm amazed that it hasn't been confirmed!

Answer:Well done all of you, the answer is indeed West Ruislip. The unmodified image is here (sorry, large version only). The correct answer was already given - I'm amazed that it hasn't been confirmed! That is because I said at the beginning (or at least I think I did), that I'd be leaving each question for about a day before giving the answer, regardless of whether the answer was reached two minutes after posting the question or wasn't got at all. I'd be interested to know what led you to the correct answer so quickly, as I thought this would be the most difficult so far. Chris

That is because I said at the beginning (or at least I think I did), that I'd be leaving each question for about a day before giving the answer, regardless of whether the answer was reached two minutes after posting the question or wasn't got at all. I was aware of that. What I meant was that West Ruislip had already been identified by one post, but then discarded by the poster, with not a single other person guessing that as well! I'd be interested to know what led you to the correct answer so quickly, as I thought this would be the most difficult so far. Chris A few years ago I used this station nearly every weekend to run errands. The railings are a dead giveaway - there isn't a single station anywhere else on the Central that has railings painted that delicately faded pink...
