As there have been several questions in several different threads about fares to and from Heathrow using TfL Rail (future Crossrail/Elizabeth line) I've put together a Google spreadsheet with several common journey options. You can view this at: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hoNWwReAaUFTLHOwT4evY6OknlpfCfTtHfegfnZKq-8 or the more memorable (case insensitive) URL tinyurl.com/HeathrowTfLfares. If I've made any errors you can let me know in this thread and I'll correct them. If anyone wants to expand the sheet to cover other fares (or otherwise improve it!) then send me a PM with the email address you use for Google Docs/Google Sheets and I can add you as an editor.

Important note - inter-terminal transfers (between T2&3/T4 on TfL Rail, T2&3/5 on Express as as well as on the Piccadilly Line) are free of charge.

So the Piccadilly Line is currently suspended on the branch to Heathrow
The TfL website says: "Piccadilly Line: Severe delays between Heathrow Terminals and Acton Town due to an earlier fire alert at Hounslow East. Minor delays on the rest of the line due to an earlier fire alert at Hounslow East. London Underground tickets will be accepted by TFL rail by any reasonable route".
So if I'm on Oyster PAYG and go via Ealing Broadway, will I be charged the TfL Rail premium?

Based on what happens in other scenarios, the premium will almost certainly be charged.

I would expect so, especially if you travelled at the same time as you would have had to to go by the big blue one.

They do need to make the distinction with Heathrow Express after all.

They do need to make the distinction with Heathrow Express after all. It's a whimper compared to the usual fanfare when ever a station came under the TFL empire. They can't really run the usual 'under new management' mantra as most of the stations will remain constructions site till Dec 2019, the new trains are only Mon-Sat goers only up until Hayes & Harlington (I know the 345's out East have their own episodes which superteacher regularly updates us with) with existing trains getting by with some new CLD's and Roundels. I'm surprised they even bothered to publicize about fares that are a best disingenuously shown on the Tube map but are the only definitive changes the passenger has seen so far. Inspite of the publicity, I can see a lot of people getting snared by this.

Inspite of the publicity, I can see a lot of people getting snared by this. I'm not sure why you're making the critical comments. TfL have said the Liz Line branding kicks in in December this year. Therefore rebranding to both east and west will be targeted for that even if the service will run in 3 sections initially. Rebranding out east has been pretty limited even though TfL took on the service 3 years ago. There is no point in TfL splashing a load of cash on something that would last barely six months on the western section. In such circumstances a "whimper" is the right thing to do Furthermore the use of the 360s into Heathrow is a variance to the original plan for reasons already much debated here. The appalling lack of progress on station works is also very much at variance to plan too. TfL seem to be highlighting (on that poster) the one key difference that *is* important - the huge differential in fares between two TfL run services.

snoggle Im not embittered in any way that the might of the TFL press juggernaught has been cajoled into action once more, It just feels beguilingly awkward that the only thing that has been posterised is the very thing that the Tube map fails to mention a map which is far more likely to get my attention than any poster ever could (let alone the questionable location of some posters). I wasn't criticising how events played out or why they've played out as such, the only theme that I'm verdantly critical of is the principle that if the higher fares to Heathrow are being willingly plastered on posters (that one was at Hillingdon), why does the Tube map have to carry a dirty secret?
