I didn't even know there was a station called Turkey Street.

So that's what Turkey Street station looks like. I've been fascinated by it for years. It used to be as far as you could go on an Oyster. I always intend to visit it, during my trips to Town, but never seem to get there. I'm curious to know if the next street is Goose Street or Greece Street.

Alas not, the modern street is named for the Turkey Brook, which is in turn named for a hamlet called (in modern English) "Turkey Street" - the etymology of which is a street of houses associated with the Toke or Tokey family, this being corrupted to "Turkey" in the 19th Century.

How disappointing. I was hoping for something like Warrenby, on the Yorkshire coast, which in my youth had Plover Street, Teal St, Wild Duck Street and Decoy Street.

I'd forgotten about that. A bit poor that, as, looking at it, I was the one to mention RP.
