A long shot I know but my daughter has just lost her Zip card, most likely on southbound Northern Line train between King’s Cross and Bank around 2pm. Before I report it lost and have it blocked, is there a procedure for this sort of thing being found and anyone I could contact to see if it has been handed in? I know it’s easy to get a replacement but the family live up north and are just down for the weekend instead of me going home so she will be travelling a bit. Couldn’t ask gateline staff on the way out as they exited from the DLR

Generally if Oyster cards are handed in they will be immediately stopped by staff as a security measure. Some won't, but the policy is to do so.

OK thanks, I’d better just report it lost. I often see some in the window of the control room at the top of the escalator at Balham so I thought there might be a procedure.

I have found the process of ordering a replacement Oyster card to be extremely efficient. I received a replacement by post within a couple of days, with my balance included.

Usually if they are handed in we will keep them for a while in case they are claimed but cancel them at the end of the day.

Indeed, according to my online account sent yesterday, so next working day with credit transferred. Shame the card is up North and she’s in London until today but got a young visitor discount added to a new Oyster card and I can bring it back to get the credit/deposit refunded next week so not a major disaster.

The young visitor addition only lasts 14 days. After this it reverts to adult. Can be used by another visitor to London.

Yes, I’m aware of that but we will all be moving down permanently soon and have enough cards.

OK, the card new card arrived, actually beat her home, and I can see it in my “parent’s” account but I can’t for the life of me add it to my normal Oyster account. I had both her card and her brother’s linked but when I add the card number it says that the card is already registered and to enter the password, security answer, memorable place or date or PIN. I’ve tried everything I could possibly have used but no luck. I’ve done this twice before with no problem but can’t quite remember how. What am I doing wrong? There was nothing in the accompanying letter either.
