Its on the old platform, 5? The one where the "Tea run" [South Acton shuttle] used to run to/from?

That train's about to leave the eastbound local running wrong road into the depot.
The former South Acton shuttle platform is behind the adverts.

Top Prize to that man! I seriously queried whether any train, let alone this veteran, could go up the slope! Never saw it before or since . TP may remember that the very last CO/CP Stock train in ordinary service should have terminated at Ealing Bdy. However special sanction was granted for it to continue to Ealing Common, where we had to alight. Then she went to the depot with a blaze of detonators as was customary at the time.
AGC what's your address and I'll mail you a copy of my bus book?

Yes, that's why I have quoted the full address because you get the "window" with details etc. I do hope that this is correct etiquette. Thanks Solidbond for some marvellous info and photos..I have been looking to see if I am in there! May I also please say that there are some wonderful photos on the site and urge everyone to peruse it: mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/LUArchive/home.htmlAll of my slides from the period were donated to LURS including those of the Richmond branch resignalling around 1981, when the semaphores went.

I do not remember that but it was normal for trains to stable at Ealing Common depot from the east end. They would run into the WB fast platform and tip out, then cross over the EB fast into the depot. I think the gradient is 1 in 25. All DR Stock used to do it. The connection was taken out when Acton Town went over to programme machines I think about 1965.
