thinking about the The Snaresbrook Shuffle on the Central line page made me think about the service from Watford to Rickmansworth last thing at night.
I imagine that over 50% of passengers on that service actually want to go south and end up walking/taxiing home from Ricky, is there anything to compare with this?
The only bit of good news is that they would otherwise have to walk from Watford as there are no further services after the Ricky one.

And unlike the Snaresbrook Shuffle, I don’t intend to find out anytime soon! (Are you volunteering philthetube?)

"The Rickmansworth Walk" - must be like the Lambeth Walk, but a bit posher.

I worked at Watford Met and Croxley. I don't think anybody ever got on that last train to Ricky. There was never anybody about. Anyway it would have been lamped out and announced Ricky only if anybody was going to get on it. The north end of the Met was and maybe still is a different world.

Up until about eighteen months ago the last train to each destination would be "lamped out" - seen off by station staff with a green handlamp to ensure all last minute stragglers got on board. The practice was usually accompanied by local public address announcements stating the destination of the train, which in this instance would be "Ricky (slang for Rickmansworth) only".
Although some station staff do still lamp out last trains it is now only required for booked connections, of which there are an ever reducing number, and last trains do not have to wait for the green handlamp.

Things have certainly changed since I was on the "Job". Not necessarily for the better. I made the assumption in my earlier post that everybody would understand what Clas411 has underlined. My apologies, obviously a dangerous assumption. By the way MoreToJack I did eventually get my priv discount mounted on an Oyster card.

I've seen trains from Watford with Rickmansworth on their displays (crossing Baldwins Lane Bridge) in the past, but can't see any in the timetable now. Have they been removed?

I've seen trains from Watford with Rickmansworth on their displays (crossing Baldwins Lane Bridge) in the past, but can't see any in the timetable now. Have they been removed? Still shown on the TfL timetable page and WTT (340) respectively, Mondays to Fridays: 472 (0516 Chesham-Watford) and 404 (0608 Ricky-Watford) with 447 (0049 Watford-Ricky) on the return leg. Saturdays (inc Public Holidays): 443 (0516 Chesham-Watford), as far as I can tell, no passenger trains traverse the North Curve SB from Watford to Ricky on Saturdays. Sundays: 427 (0700 Ricky-Watford) with 431 (0019 Watford-Ricky) on the way back.

There are a couple of occasional regulars use it, one guy connects for the Chesham at Ricky and another who works in Watford and enjoys a pint before heading home on certain shifts., also one commuter goes the other way in the morning.
