Yikes! I've just found this website (http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/safety/rail/advertising_campaign.asp) on another group I read, the website is an Australian site which has some videos showing people the consequences when you play with Trains, the two first ones send a shiver up my spine when I watch them! They're a bit harsh IMHO, but they do get the message across very clearly!

F*****g hell! They were brilliant. So simple yet so affective. The look on that girls face in the back seat of the car. It certainlly does send a shudder down your spine.
If you look on "joke" websites there are videos of them in real life. And one rather disturbing website has many sickening videos of people who have been hit by trains. I have shown one other member here (who, like me, was overcome with morbid curiosity) and the site in question even has CCTV footage of a one under. I have been foolish enough to look at these once, and never will i do it again. I don't think it would be appropriate to say which site they were from, as they do leave you feeling sick.

I have been foolish enough to look at these once, and never will i do it again. Why foolish? I doubt you would have done, but now that you know how much damage a person suffers when hit by a train you can describe it to anyone sufficiently stupid to play on the railway. Surely that's the whole point? The more people who see such things the less likely they are to put themselves in harm's way. Please provide a link.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to show these to those fools who are so stupid as to put themselves in the way of trains.

But the site is strange. Really strange. It's the kind which has execution videos and rubbish like that too. The people (or bodies) photod jumped rather than played around with the railways. If you want i'll provide a link, but the admin folk may not like it. Plus i was too young to look at it and i know there are people here younger than me. I don't really want Dave to get into any trouble with proboards! I'll PM anyone with the link if they're that desperate, but i'm not putting it publicly until I get the say so from Dave or AlanL or anyone else who has the authority!

They used to show something similar at schools.
I remember my local BTP officer in my primary school, showing a video with kids playing near 25Kv overhead electrified track.
They didn't show a train hitting the kids involved, but did show horrific pictures of the burns that 25 Kv can do. It seriously left nothing to the imagination. I was only 8 at the time, I am now 28 and can remember the pictures to this day!
The only things I have seen since that have been anywhere near as gruesome are the near miss one-under that I witnessed (see one-under's thread) and the result of a man trying to cross a busy 70MPH dual carriageway.

these are very harsh adverts, but they do make people think twice!
I feel you can show the link here, just give a stern warning to the morbid folk (like me) who'll watch it.

They certainly put the point across, frightening stuff, well put together. Should be shown anywhere their are railways.
