I’m currently on the Central Line heading west from Central London. As the train was about to leave Notting Hill Gate there was an announcement from the driver requesting passengers not to obstruct the doors and the doors were then opened and closed. However, the end door in the carriage I’m in remained closed. There was no obvious obstruction to the door and it opened at every other station. Any idea what might have happened?

Perhaps the driver used the reopen function?

But why would one door remain closed when the others opened?

But why would one door remain closed when the others opened? I thought the reopen function only opened those doors which hadn’t closed properly?

But why would one door remain closed when the others opened? I thought the reopen function only opened those doors which hadn’t closed properly? It does sounds to me like the driver used the re-open function and it just so happened that three sets of doors on that carriages hadn't closed properly. I see this regularly on my way to and from work.

I saw an Epping train on the eastbound at Woodford this lunchtime (train 32) with a whole carriage set of doors that weren't opening. The carriage was empty and after a short delay and intervention of platform staff, the train continued to Epping, although the doors on the car in question never opened.
