Nice easy one that was, seeing as that board is very uncommon in the UK (is it unique?). I read up on it some time ago and have since forgotten.....

Nice easy one that was, seeing as that board is very uncommon in the UK (is it unique?). I read up on it some time ago and have since forgotten..... Built by Solari, who still produce this sort of display. Used to be on most stations in some form or another until the new CIS systems took over. Unusual back colour though - most of them were black. Used to work at Redhill - the platform ones there were three deep to allow for long calling patterns.

Oooh, the old Solari indicators... loved them. Got a full set from one at Tonbridge. Used to love the ones at Victoria, seeing one column get blanked and for the same train to re-appear in the next column on the left. And then there was the ones at Dover Priory; clack, clack, clack, clack, clack......

The red bits on the destination board normally carried specific information like Train Cancelled (normally at the top) or Front Four Coaches (followed by a list of stations). I can't quite read the two red bits on that one though.

I don't know what those red symbols say, but I can tell you for sure, that that isn't displaying LU services. That board only shows trains departing from platforms 1 - 18: the suburban / national rail services.
Generally speaking, the last train in / out of Liverpool Street is between 1:30am and 2am. The last LU train usually finishes around 1:30am also.

The flaps just need to be tapped to make them go blank. They've just got themselves stuck mid position.
