Does anyone know of an app which shows the position of trains, along with their train number and destination? I know that Trackernet does this, but this I only available on the TFL intranet.

I have one on iPhone called London Tube Tracker. If that’s any good? London Tube Tracker by Andy Drizen itunes.apple.com/gb/app/london-tube-tracker/id441139371?mt=8I wouldn’t say it works perfectly all the time, but it was useful this morning when it showed the next nearest tube to Wimbledon was at Fulham Broadway... my it was a fun morning!

It's just as accurate at TrackerNet...! It's pretty much the best version out there - most of the others are designed as more network visualisation rather than tracking specific trains.

In the widest sense of the term "app" there is the browser based traintimes.org.uk/map/tube/At the time of the recent derailment which closed the Wimbledon end of the District Line, it showed what I believe were phantom trains on parts of the closed section, so to me that hinted of either problems interpreting the data, or part use of timetable info to generate the display

It's quite amusing to watch as trains escape from the network and make their way into various parts of London. There's one little chap that likes to go for a run in Holland Park, making for the Central line, before being unceremoniously yanked back to High Street Ken District line. It's fun to see just how far he gets before being recaptured. I've seen him nearly make it to the Bayswater Road.

Drivers tend to use train tracker lul, no maps but gives location of trains, in numerical lists also supplies destination information, as with all apps is only as good as trackernet, available on android.
A free version is available but worth paying the couple of quid to avoid adverts if to be used frequently.

I've used the following iPhone app by RyanTCB for several years to check on train locations, and found it very useful for example to work out whether to target Baker Street or Marylebone for a train home. It's not map based, but in destination board style shows up to next 4 trains due into a selected station's platform (with train number, destination and estimation to time due). itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tube-london-underground/id528915585?mt=8It's just recently been redesigned for iOS 11. The same author also has an iTrackernet app (which I have had installed for a while but only rarely use - I was getting warnings that the above app wouldn't work with iOS 11 so was looking around for alternatives, only to be pleasantly surprised after upgrading to iOS 11 that a brand new iOS 11 version had been released) which can be used to locate trains on lines by their number. Or you can scroll through a small window to show all trains running on a line. This might be closer to what you're looking for than the above app, it's a shame the scrolling window is quite small if you're trying to see all trains. itunes.apple.com/gb/app/itrackernet/id527661890?mt=8
